Glassmasters VATICAN ANGEL WITH A VIOLIN STAINED GLASS from the Vatican Art Collections circa 15th Century measures 8-1/2" diameter, is framed in Cassatinite, a metal alloy that does not contain lead, includes a matching chain for hanging, as well as a provenance card in the gift box.
Some of the world's greatest treasures and manuscripts, dating back centuries, come from the Vatican collections of art. The Angel Playing Violin is one such excellent example. Whereas only fragments remain of Melozzo da Forli's fifteenth-century fresco, enough of the original work is intact to complete this reproduction in stained glass. The entire fresco depicts angels playing a variety of musical instruments to accompany and celebrate Christ's ascension into heaven.
